Keeping Youth In Your Heart

As we get older we all get caught up in everyday life. Days,weeks and years fly by.Before you know it your children start having children. It all goes by in a flash.

When I was a child I used to love Summer rain storms.There was nothing more fun than running outside ,kicking up the puddles and running down the block while you got saturated.Those memories are some of the fondest I have.

About a month ago ,I was looking outdoors and the sky grew dark and ominous. I knew it was just a matter of time before the skies opened up and the rain poured down.No sooner was I thinking that than boom ,a thunder clap and down it came. I went downstairs to my hallway ,opened the front door and watched in amazement how hard the rain was coming down. Then my light bulb went off.

I kicked off my slippers and ran out into the rain. Through the puddles running down the street with my arms opened up ,feeling the cool ,refreshing rain on my skin. Suddenly I was 7 again . For those brief 10 minutes or so I remembered just how important it is to throw all responsibility out the window and remember to embrace the child inside.Namaste!
