Where has our compassion gone?

Todays inspiration for my blog comes from a story that is circulating through social media and plastered all over the news. I am talking about the situation with Lamar Odom. I realize that everybody is entitled to their own opinions but when I hear people being so negative and judgemental it breaks my heart. We all know that Odom was married to Khloe Kardashian and was in quite a few episodes on their reality show. I understand that there are many people out there that don't particularly care for the Kardashians and because of this it reflects upon his current situation.

When you come down to the facts of this story,Odom was a kid from Queens,N.Y. that lost his mom to cancer,had a strained relationship with his father for many years and is a father to 2 children himself. He is also only in his mid 30's and yes did struggle with a drug problem.I often wonder if people heard of this same tragedy concerning someone who was not in the limelight would their attitude be the same?I doubt it. They would probably sit around talking about what a shame it is.

The point I am trying to make is we are all of one family. We are all a part of the human race. Just because someone may be of a different financial status it doesn't make them less deserving of caring. I truly pray that the outcome of this situation is either quick(so that this poor man doesn't suffer) or miraculous.He deserves the same compassion that anyone else does. My prayers are with him and his family....and yes that includes the Kardashians!
