Patience and Love

As parents we want what is best for our loved ones .Sometimes they don't always go down the path that we wish they would. Often they get off track and delve into things that may be harmful to them.There is nothing more painful than watching someone you love in pain.

I have had more than my share of issues with my family. Substance abuse (whether it be alcohol or medication) is not an easy obstacle to overcome. Addiction is a horrible thing to see a loved one going through.

I just urge anyone who is going through this or has a loved one going through this to seek out all alternative methods of healing. I'm not anti-meds,I'm just saying meds aren't for everyone and they are not the only course of action. You want a solution ....not a band aid.

The most powerful weapon you have as a parent,sister,brother,friend etc. is patience and love. Although the road is a rocky one filled with ups and downs ,please do not give up on them.If it is difficult for you to see them go through this ,just imagine how difficult it is for those going through it.
